ya, and he swapped an engine into his 4runner and got it going pretty quickly, but then his brother wrecked it.

will your brother help you do this motor swap? I'd think he at least owes you that, for rolling your last rig. I'd clean up the engine, but if its good, I wouldn't bother taking it apart. It sounds like you've got a good plan if you keep the toyota, just build it up over time as skills and money allow. I agree with what KDX said
