You'll probably have to remove the timing cover to replace the seal. The only other way I can think of to do it without removing the TC would be if you had a large and deep enough socket to fit over the end of the crank shaft to push the new seal in. Then you'd also need to have enough room in front to be able to lightly tap it in.
