i too have seen countless mtrs destroyed by sidewall gashes, i hear good things about the irok, half way decent on the road as well according to a friend
I have been on the trail with many friends with MTR's and they ALL have sidewall plugs in them due to the week sidewalls! I have a set of 36' IROKs and love them for the rocks and mud i would go with the IROKs. But if you are going to be running a substantial amount on the road i would go with the mtr's they have great street manners do well offroad (if you can deal with the weak sidewalls)
