I think it's a good idea, me an a buddy of mine were thinking of taking some ply board up there to put on the floor and cover up the holes so we could camp in it 
. I don't know what the rangers would think, but it'd be nice to clean it up

In order to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, the kid has to initiate,aquire funds, prepare, document, and lead a service project. This could be a good one for a scout in the area if anyone knows one? I know in my area scouts have done everything from building playgrounds for churches, to creating a "nature" trail around a lake, complete with signage and a couple of benches, to building picnic tables for schools. just a thought if anyone on here is involved with BSA, or knows of someone who is

I came across this article that mentions Kathy Ball who is the director of the Central California and Nevada chapter of the Forest Fire Fighter Lookout Association. It appears that she assisted with the resoration of the tower at Buck Rock. You may want to contact her for further info and efforts to restore the lookout at Bald Mtn.
