actually  NO

if  you are running a L series  tranny  in your rig now  you should keep the short  case   as your  crawler  and put the entire 87 case  in the rear

this way  you have the larger 10mm  bolt flanges  front and rear

the difference  in the  top and short will be covered  up when you install the MC07  on it
