Have your alternator checked, thats what happens when it starts going bad.
Not always the case. So, If your alt goes out your truck will rev to 3k to keep power to the battery. If your light is twitching i would check your terminals. Could be as simple as not having them tight enough. befor throwing 170$ at a new alternator get it checked along with your battery.
