I had a DVEG 32/36 on my nissan, the only thing that I had problems with was the throttle return springs were to weak! I had to get heavier springs, and I had to keep a couple of spares, cause the bracket that the spring attached to would wear through! The only other thing about my weber was that is took awhile to get the choke dialed in right! I remember, that it took three years to get it dialed in and never had to do anything with the choke since! And it seemed that you had to readjust the idle and fuel mixture setting in the spring and fall! Which was really easy! One other thing that helps too is to put thread locker on your adjustment screws or they tend to work out!
As for off-road angles, I never had any problems with traversing alot of old neglected roads, but I never did any rock crawling with it. But you might want to direct that ? to Marlin, cause his old 22r/20 motor had a weber on it for a long time, before going to the 3rz! I'm been looking at the holley 470 series! Designed with serious angles in mind! If I remember right, they guarantee 30 to 40 degree angles in all directions!
