iv seen more first gens without fusable links than with. over the years i guess they just get eliminated. if you dont have them get them ASAP or replace with fuses.

i didnt realise  i was missing the fusable links on my 80 until i had a real bad weekend on the trail and my truck almost burnt. i suffered the humiliation of being towed off the trail by a j#*p yj  and to top off my weekend the tow truck driver had a j#*p tattoo on the back of his neck! pretty weird but thats a true storey. after that i did my homework and installed a good under hood fuse block. turned out my coil wire had got burnt with weld spatter and shorted to my shock hoop.
