Did you put any lubricant on the input shaft of the Transmission? You might have a dragging clutch  witch can be caused by a dirty/worn input that does not allow clutch plate to move back and disengage from flywheel., causing hard engagement, sometimes cleaning the splines on the shaft is enough but a small amount of grease is recommended to let the clutch slid easily on the shaft.
