There are a few companies that make bellhousings that allow you to use a W56 or R151 manual tranny.

Nice build   Make sure you do something to keep the power steering fluid cool.  With full hydro you'll be burning up those Lexus pumps left and right

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

He will probably use a A340F with duals behind it. The headers on a Lexus SC400 are tucked in so it should clear.

It is going to have hydro assist, It will be driven on the street.

If he can, I would suggest ditching the Lexus p/s pump altogether and run something from PSC.  The Lexus pumps had all kinds of problems in a oem car (let alone something with 44's).  They leaked all the time and since they sit on top off the alternator, they would wipe out the diode packs on the alternators thus leaving you with no electrical.

A340F is the 4wd tundra trans with a left hand drop correct?  Should be a sweet setup.

I'd venture to guess it's a Land Cruiser box with plans to run the drag link to the rear of the axle. Check out the steering arms. This would make sense, as LC boxes came with the pitman facing forward and drag link to the front of the axle, but by swapping the pitman arm to face the rear and the drag link connecting to the back, he's solved the problem. Smart thinking if that's what he's done.

Looks beeeeeeefy!!!

a340f tranny. I was told it is from a 2003 tundra.

The bell says VZ so this must have been a V6 truck. Was the 3.4 even available in 03?

Lexus output with rotor and worm gear.

Tundra output. I was quite surprised by the 4 prong rotor. This is the same as the lexus and the sensor
apears to be the same also. This might make this sensor a plug and play  operation. I will probably put the lexus
sensor in place of the tundra one just to be sure.

For reference all 90s 340f I have seen pictures of have a two prong rotor and are not compatible.

Next I tackled the worm gear sensor. I had an idea so i pulled the gear that turns the speedo cable
out of an old gear drive case i had. Here are the two side by side.

Both have 18 teeth and the distance from mounting surface to the end of the gear is almost the same.
I put each in the transfer case and they both rotate 1 time for every 3 rotations of the output shaft.
I then put the lexus sensor back in the lexus tranny and in it's stock location and it turned once for every
three turns of the tranny out put shaft. This would seem to solve this sensor.

The only thing I can't see is the contact between the plastic gear on the lexus sensor and the worm
gear on the transfer case output. It turns freely and at a constant rate but I won't really know until
I run it at high speed.

This seems to take care of the speed sensors and will allow the ECU to control the tranny at least in
high gear. For low i am going to control the gears tiptronicly.

Yes the 3.4 was available in 2003.  I believe that it was available until the end of 2004.
