I know that if you are eligible for CA Handicap plates, you can get the weight fee waived.   (only 1 waiver,  less than 8000lbs unladen)

Can you get it waived with a and/or clause on the title if only 1 person is eligible for handicap plates  (i.e. me and my mom)

The "or" part of ownership might be a sticking point, if it is just reregister it as "and', shouldn't be an issue then.

Another option would be to have her transfer the plates to the truck, and then have her get a second set of plates for her car.

I had all weight fees waved on my Ford Dually 4 door which was upgraded to a 450 by Roll-A-Long and it was in both my wife's and mine name if that is the question you want answered. Currently my 4Runner sports that plate and it is also registered to both of us.

Is   AND    or        OR   used on the title?

Is only one person eligible for the handicap plates?

thanks

OR & AND only refers to how the vehicle is to be sold, and the only way it can be parked in a handicap stall is to have the person with the DMV cert in the vehicle other than that  anyone can drive it.

true

what I'm trying to figure out is the weight fee waiver.       Will the fee be waived if only one person is eligible for handicap placard, and   does it have to be one of the clauses (AND or OR or either).

Only my wife is eligible and both of our names are on the truck and the fees are waived. Doesn't matter about the and/or issue since that language only means that when the vehicle is sold "AND" means both owners must sign off on the title and "OR" means only one person needs to sign it.
