If you didn't check your manifold surface for flatness, it might be leaking at the gasket.  Spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid at the joint.  If it speeds up and smooths out temporarily, you found your problem.  Manifold leaks are a common problem if manifold is warped.  Did it miss before the new head?

Check the TPS for correct adjustment. I had a misfire and it was because of that danged thing

No this did not happen be fore the new motor when I re built the motor it would purr no hiccups or bogs just a solid tone originally the misfire was the valves. Since then they have fully broken in and are in spec the manifold is tight and leak free. I have never touched or replaced the tps

I'd check to make sure its correct. The link iis one of the best write ups. Even if it doesnt solve your problem if its bad itll have a bad affect on your gas mileage. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml
