So I bought this 93 pick up sr5 5 speed for $4800 back in March, with the mind set to build it up

So I cleaned it up took the blue decals off, installed a new radio and 12" sub with keyless entry and slapped some 32x11.5 bfgs on it also found a good deal on a trail gear bumper and light bar
And I had to put a winch on it so I got a 9.5 k shittybuilt winch lol

I ran into some money and bought a trail gear SAS kit and rear lift kit. So I had to find a front axle to put in the front

Found the axle on Craigslist for $350! In great shape everything was stock with 170k miles on it.
Started to tear it down and clean it up and weld the truss on it and paint it

Tried to polish my balls ( lol ) they were pretty pitted so I use a 2" Rolox with my die Grinder

Painted and ready for re build

Ready to put in the truck!

After buying the truck I got in a really bad motorcycle accident and had to have 2 surgeries just to keep my foot, I shattered my axle broke my leg and everything in my foot.

I was in this contraption for a month than after they put 4 screws and 2 pins in my foot

Sorry if it grosses you guys out lol it's been a long journey and 6 months later I can walk again !
Yesterday I had my last and final surgery to remove 2 of the 4 screws
And I feel great

So next week sometime I will continue the build of the yota !

Oh and the Harley is totaled

Also thought of a cool idea, I am sure its been done before, I put a Grease fitting on both knuckles to pump grease into the knuckles.

It's crazy that those screws held my ankle together for 6 months. When I went into the surgical room my doctor had the same tool box I do, I was pretty scared lol

.

Finished my rear lift today. The truck sits pretty high, a little to high for my liking, I might take a leaf out of all the leaf packs. But we'll see after everything brakes in.
Got some 35s to through under it too, getting put on sometime this week.

Finally had time to work on the truck and drove it home the other day with no shocks! Man was that a scary ride haha, so the shocks and steering stabilizer was a must thing to do.

Used the fork lift at work and flexed it out!

Than shortly after went and got my new 35" tires

With my buddy posing for the pic. He is jealous of the yota (he has a jeep)

That thing is absolutely beautiful. I'm just finishing my third gen too. The white is with out a doubt the best looking  Very clean job

I might have missed it saw you went with the trail gear springs but what size up front

It does look like it sits a little up there for a 3". Thats actually what i was hoping for out of my 4" allpro's. But without really even being driven much yet mine look a little flat compared to yours. I've  got the 3.0 too.  Right a 23 5/8" right behing trans case x member on frame with 31's still. Did you by any chance get a measurement before the 35's. Either way you may settle in a bit.  One of my favorite for sure. Nice work

Yeah it sits really high, I'll post some more pictures later, with the 35s. I did not get a measurement. I was to keen on get the lift done and getting tires lol. I've only put 50 miles on the truck so far but hopefully it settles in and comes down and little. I almost bought the allpro sas and rear kit because I like there quality parts but the trail gear SAS kit and rear kits were on sale cause of Christmas. So I saved around 400$ I think.

  That's the way to do it. when I got my axel of C.list came with a lot of the random pieces , shock hoops , high steer and other stuff didn't need a full kit so I searched and waited Hit up the Labor day sale for my springs. But hell that 15% or whatever it was at least covered the crazy shipping all the out here to Maryland.  :ha_ha:

Mike_amthor

So I finally found a front driveshaft, I called an old buddy of mine and he had one laying around but had bad u joint and a bad CV. And it was free ! Haha I got it to the shop and tore it apart today.

Not the best driveshaft but hey you get what you pay for haha. I should have it all back together sometime tomorrow.

Is that a factory solid axel shaft? Just got one from a buddy as well. If it is have you checked the trans case flange pattern. Had to pull, turn and re drill the flange

Yeah it's factory for a 85 runner. I am going to check it today. But thanks for the heads up!

Absolutely , not sure if it is different with a 4cyl. case at the flange but I think you have a 3.0 . In my case the patterns were just a hair off. The pattern on the shaft is something like 60mm x 60mm   and on the t.case is 61.5mm   don't quote that exact # but you get the point. So close. but if not to late try it while the shaft is still apart so you can use it as a template for your new holes it sucked trying to do it with the whole shaft maybe easier with just the cv case. Let me know if its the same with yours

Mike_amthor

I was actually think of using my stock 93 flange and H flange and using the 85 shaft. Not sure if it will work or not but I might try that before I start drilling.

that's sounds like an even better idea. But only going off what I have read there may be a difference in the 2 cv cases  I think the s.a. is more desireable because of its operating angle over the IFS one .  Again im the last person to give advice on that. just something to think about too.

OVRAROK

the 85 front cv driveshaft does have a little bit more of an angle,as the straight axle on leafs moves up and down, where as the ifs front driveshaft went down to a stationary front diff, the cv axles did all the moving, however the 84-84 front shaft uses smaller bolts iirc. i used an ifs front cv.  i would clearance the cv while you have it apart, i did mine, it wasn't to bad of a job, heres a great writeup http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/cvmod/

Mike_amthor

So I finished the front drive shafted today, and I clearance it, like some of you guys were saying. Wish I took more pictures but I got pretty busy lol. If anybody needs part numbers for the cv or u joints I have them.
