should I remove the Body lift and lower center of gravity or raise drivetrain for a belly pan

Drive train lift
remove body lift

Help me out with the wider track the truck is a lot more stable and I would like to flush belly it and plate the bottom, But I like the idea of a lower center of gravity and a FROR style skid plate. I don't need the Body lift to clear the tires so I don't think I should keep it.  :headscratch:  :dunno:

How big is it?  I know that with my 3.0, I will have my body lift as long as I have the engine because it makes it so much easier to work on.  I wouldnt be able to do some stuff without my body lift.  However, if you dont benefit from it when workin on the truck, dump it!!   :twocents:

You should do a drive train lift.  The ground clearance from a drive train lift will help you a lot.  When i was on fordycemy marlin skid plate was used many times.  I think you will love the extra clearance.   :turtle:  :usa:

i say keep the body lift for the same reason as blackdog. it makes it so much easier to do things in the engine compartment

It comes down to driving style if you tend to be leaning over on rocks being lower will make you a lot more stable, but the ground clearance will make going inbetween rocks easy since you wont have to worry about rubbing.  SO would you rather be more stable on the tippy situations or not have to worry about slaming your body on boulders?

with my runner I went with minamal suspen lift,,a 2 in body lift and lifter my t-case as High as I could..Its really  a wash..I doubt you will even notice it..And the belly clearance is awesome..It being easy to work on is a bonus also..but I'd for sure go with the rodger brown body lift over the plastic cheap plastic crap..

I hate bodylifts period. I say remove that sucker. White Trash did a neato drivetrain lift, I think its in his $300 post

Thats an awesome idea too..i just did not want to cut my floor out..also i needed the extra room in the fenderwell..You can barly tell I have one..I would not go over 2 in though..Plus I had it in there when my runner was still a pavement pounder so I really didnt care..It just worked out having it in there..

Take the body lift off and cut the pucks down to 1".  Put them back in and lift the drivetrain up for a flat belly.  Hell if you do go ahead with it Ill send you my old motormount relocation plated that I made to move the engine up and back 3/4".  The first 9 pages of $300 are all of my 81 that was the start of this truck Im running now...

It is easier to work on things around the intake and exhaust but harder on top I'm only 5"1' and this truck is 4" taller than the 84 because of the body lift and tires.

Get rid of the body lift and do something like White Trash did, you'll still have a little clearance to access crap underneath and it'll be lower so it will be easier to get to the top of the engine.
