What does the wire do that goes from the back of the head to the firewall?  It kina looks like a ground or maybe it stops the engine from moving too far.  I just found mine unbolted yesterday and wondering if it is needed?

Doesnt that get in the way when you cut your hair??  :headscratch:

Its a ground.  I dunno if you relly need it, if yours was unbolted I would say prolly no, but I would just bolt it back up

Mine bolts through on of the intake manifold bolts, just onbolt it, slide it over and bolt it back down

i've heard it's mainly to prevent electrolytic corrosion since the head is aluminum and the block is iron.

My buddies truck doesn't have it either.

I too have heard that it is to help prevent electrolysis on the head, and as everyone has said its supposed to be there for a reason; multiple grounding points are always good for electrical items anyhow.
