My absolute favorite shoes are the Columbia hikers that are made just for Famous Footwear.

Based on this recommendation I picked up a pair of these waterproof mid top hiking boots today:

The racing shoes were a bit of a bust.  I wore them for the first tank of gas on the Moab trip and they seemed to rub just wrong on the heal of one foot.  They are for the most part very comfortable, they just seem to wrap high enough on my heel that it hits in a odd spot when driving which is ironic since they are made for driving.  I swapped to another pair that I had along just for backup and never looked back.  They will probably end up back at work again where they were super comfy in the office.

Moab Tested & Rubicon Approved

I got a brand new set of Danner Quarry boots in January at the Danner factory store next door lol.. Once they broke in, I preferred wheeling in them. They're waterproof, goretex and they're awesome to weld in with the protective leather strap.
