you shouldnt need a body lift, if you dont want to make your own mounts get chilkats, although expect to modify them to have the motor sit right, i got lucky and didnt have to touch mine.

check out the 3rz swap thread Ovrarok posted, has everything you need to know, it was my fall back whenever i had a question with my swap

goodluck!

post up a build thread of this swap!

What those guys said. Read the 3rz thread. Then read it agaon, then again. I probably read that entire thread every word atleast 10 times before I started on my 83. I basically walked through the swap with very little questions (other than the chilkat mounts that require being rebuilt to make engine set correctly) if you are handy with a welder you can build your own mounts much cheaper than buying those. Also from what I've read you can utilize 3rz and 22r brackets to make it work. I think ovrarock can explain that one. Do a search for it.

A quick thread to read through can help with many of the questions

I'm like 99% sure that 1st gens do not require any body lift for 3rz swap.

Mine doesn't have a body lift. And it's a 2wd body

The only thing that might need to be done is a little bit of trimming on the ribs of the hood.

Not even that I'd your willing to drop the radiator. I opted for that so I didn't have to cut the hood.

Wasn't the radiator that hit on mine (I realize I'm not a 1st gen truck) it was actually the power steering reservoir.

I've read that also on 2nd gen applications. Figure out your iac?

LOL kinda. I ruined the sensor that attaches to it with throttle body cleaner. Ended up picking up a whole new (used) throttle body and IAC from a local wrecker and putting that in. My idle problem that drove this all is gone though so....yeah I fixed it!   :ha_ha:
