95 Chevy 4.3l CPI
« on: Jun 23, 2015, 08:13:09 PM »
So in light of my recent discovery on the head of my 22r, I realize that running Swamp lake etc. isn't going to happen for me this year. I recently acquired a 1995 Chevy Astro van.  I've always wanted to do this engine swap but never the ability now with this unforeseen issue with my 22r and the arrival of a 4.3l to my door step it is possible. I have found that keeping my G52 bolted behind it would be more expensive than I can deal with at this point in my life and also worried about it holding up to another 100 hp and torques in front if it. Aside from the adapter between the transmission and the transfer case,  motor mounts, radiator,  and converting my electrical system. what other issues am i going to run into. Also can my 21 spline RF1A be converted to 23 spline.

the 4.3's are very particular with their fuel pressure. You will need to change to a fuel pump that puts out at least 55PSI- I'd do a walboro 255. Good luck on the electrical.. i'd reccomend just going with a painless harness. You'll be happy you did. I cleaned up the stock harness and fudged it into the toyota- made it work. A much bigger pain that i wanted.

on the rf1a transfer case question, yes you can buy a 23 spline input, are the gears stock or 4.7s?, it may be a bit harder trying to locate just the input on 23 spline 4.7s

Why not sell said 4.3 set up and get a 3rz? Drops in, can be had cheap, and still a vast improvement from a 22r.
83 long bed 2wd sas, 3rz, w56, duals with 4.7 rear, 4.88 elock front, spartan rear, 39.5 iroks
