94 pickup hood latch

Is the 94 pickup hoodlatch different from the 90-95 year 4runner hood latch cuz i have a 94 pickup an it didnt have thd hood latch so i snagged the one off my 4runner an it seems like it sets a half inch to low to lock in its driving me crazy
