Good Day, Eh!
« on: Apr 19, 2015, 06:47:34 PM »
Hello to you all, I'm Jonathan from Ladysmith BC. My DD is a 60 series LC. I'm an overlander, not a rock crawler.  I
did just install a set of Marks 3.0:1 set in my t-case to help me go slower. I run the 285/75R17" Toyo MT's, with a 12H-T/5 spd
it gets me down to proper walking speed.
I find that no matter what my particular need is, I can learn from everyone, everywhere.  I am firm believer in cross purposing.

I would be very grateful for any info on 17x9 alloy wheels, 5 on 6.5 with 3.5"/4" BS.  I've scoured every website I can find,
Stealth Performance F-5 are the style and weight I'm looking for, but they don't have the sizes.  No flash/chrome/bling please.
Any help would be grateful.
BTW, I'm in Fresno this weekend, and will drop into Marlins shop Monday or Tuesday.
Anyone here in Fresno want to get together for coffee, look at BC pics, let me know,  403-five 8 five-3 8 two 5

Here is what we see for used 70 series stuff at home.
The seller openly admits to the rust development, yet the truck has value and this is where we are at.
The price is a bit high, but fixing rust has been done, and makes for a really fantastic truck.
3B means slow, so not an interstate rabbit.  It will move along, but not in the passing lane.

I told Mike I'd post up a thread from a trip we did last summer. The road that we travelled was an over grown logging road that
had deteriorated to the point of being a quad trail. We went in, and with a few hrs had cleaned it out to take full size Land Cruisers
again.  The road dead ended at Donner Lake, but to put it into perspective - there are NO people in here. No cabins, roads, camps.
Heaven on earth....http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/vi-cruiser-expedition-june-21-22-and-beyond.803620/

Enjoy the pics, and let me know if any of you want to come up for a visit. J

Another short thread, the Chilcotin is in central BC.  Basically local slag for thousands of sq miles of back country.  I drove for almost
1200 miles over the week, no paved roads (except for one desperate fuel run, leaking fuel can  )

This is a favourite of all back roaders cause camping is free, people are sparse.

So apparently....this is my 11th post.  so I can post pics after this.  BTW, always bet on the 11th horse in the first race.
I am currently working a trade of a '74FJ40 I have ( that has a 79 350 SBC with 91 NV4500 ) for a '85 BJ70. The BJ70 is
a Canadian version just prior to the BJ74.   Difference being, the BJ70 has a 3B diesel in it with a Toyota 5 spd. These are
pathetically underpowered little motors, but very long lasting ( this one 400K ).   Also, V8 - 12 mpg   3B - 30 + mpg.   I
am older now, so slow is the new cool.  :driving:
So in a few days we'll see, and then I'll put up some pics of my Land Cruiser family.
