To Buy - Not To Buy

Ok look here!  I no know this fellow who is selling his 1986 4runner it has 270k on the truck and an 87 22re with 200k and a rebuilt head w/1500mi on it it runs but he said when your on the freeway or traveling 60+ mph it cuts out and smokes a little bit of blue smoke.  He thinks it,s the EGR? or the trottle positioning sensor? This is a manual 5spd and the four wheel drive works fine. It has a fist size dent on the driver side right behind the door and the rear quarter panles are crunched inward right behind the rear wheel well, Almost like it was put in a vise. He said he wants $700 for so I figured take $500 cash and a case of beer .  What do you guys think is it worth it or not this will be my first toyota project.

thats a good price if you know how to troublshoot, if you have to pay someone else to do it wait for one thats running good.

Thanks for the input, I dont know much but will learn .  I am going to pick it up sunday, I will post pics if I can figure out how to use my little brothers camera.   I am so stoked I will finaly have a Yota, It's like getting a new Toy .

This is crap dude the guy would not meet with me this weekend so he told me to call him monday to meet him at RMC (local motorcycle shop) but he wont answer his cellular device     I am so pissed.
