I have a 81 trekker that I have been trying to get sniffed for the last five years with no success.  So I got an 86 motor wire harness gas tank  dash and so fourth. I have been looking for a thread on the dash swap section as I knew this would be my most time consuming challenge.  No pics and no info that's what I found. Hopefully this thread will be helpful as I have photographed everything I'm doing.

I have done the dash swap in an 83 first gen with a 91 third gen. I swapped the fuel tank and complete wiring front to rear. Getting the dash, steering, A/C, heater, and stuff was tough. In CA. all I really needed was the check eng. light. Mine came out O.K., good luck.

I have a 22re in my first gen (1980) I kept my stock dash and gauges. Much better if you do that imo first gen dashes look the best and being it a trekker keeping it original would be cool to see.
