Figured id post a few pics of the exo i did on our runner. its actually my first time doing a full body exo...always done buggies and cab trucks. I must admit it has some challenges trying to keep it close to the body and still being able to weld it on in sections so that the tube could be welded completely.

I dig it!  I can't see what is going on in the front but did you tie it into the front bumper?

joblo

yeh the front of the cage goes through the front fenders and ties into the front bumper.

It just doesnt seem very structurally sound to me , but i tried to keep all the interior space availible( no cross bracing through the cab).  It has already done its job once but im hauling my family around in it and would like it to be as safe as possible and still usable in all weather conditions, and still driveable on the road.Any advice or critisizm would be appreciated.

When i get my garage finished. I had to do this at my folks place...thats were my bender, welders and plasma are until i have a garage that can run three 220 plugs and doors i trust keeping stuff safe or at least more "out of sight".

Makes me jealous! Im stuck using a 110v welder :(.

I like the runner, ive never built a cage, but i think yours looks good.
How are the tons holding up to those 42" iroks?  Im thinking of trying those out as my next tire.

joblo

the 60s seem to hold up ok. They are 35 spline shafts but ive had to change out the rear shafts (twisted at the splines) and spit out the u-joint caps once on the short side stub shaft. I dont mind the 41" iroks but i am trying to trade them or sell them for some 40" or 42" goodyears.I believe i have an add on this forum for them.

Oh those are 41"s?   I just have some 39" bfg bajas now, but am planning on eventually 39.5 or 42" iroks.
I only have stock axles in both the 60/14bolt.  We will see how they hold up, hopefully this is done soon.

Okay so your somewhat close.  I would like to get mine done and make a few runs to the highlakes to make sure everything is legit and then maybe make mcr this year... But i still need quite a few parts.
