Last week my 2000 4runner began to idle rough when started with the A/C on, it then lags during acceleration and sounds/feels like it wants to stall when stopping. I took it in for an oil change and tune up thinking new plugs and wires would do the job. No such luck. It has 297K miles on the original engine, could it be the fuel filter or catalytic converter? The check engine light flashes at freeway speeds and when hooked up throws a code that indicates the coil needs to be replaced in slot 1, mechanic tried that and it didn't help, still threw an engine misfire code. Any helpful suggestions are welcome. Thank you
