Just thought I'd post my findings because I really couldn't find any hard facts as to how much these rigs consume. Of corse there are several variables based on setup and equipment, and trail but.. this is what I found after running my rig on the Rubicon for the first time over the weekend.

Here's my setup

84' Pickup Bobbed Bed - Loaded with 2, 10 gallon tanks 1- 8 gallon tank and all my camping gear, spare parts, tools etc.
Dual Transfer cases, stock gears
Toyota axles, w/5.29 gears
Bald wornout 35/12.50/15 tires
newly built 20r/22r hybrid engine.
Of course GotPropane Kit

I ran from buck island to the Loon Lake staging area, in 6 hours.. very few stops. Hand calculated (by tank weight) I burned 4.4 gallons of LPG!

turbo this..

what about LPG? loads of guys run LPG on there 8Vs over here in aus because it like 70 cents a liter its really the only way they an run there big hp engines for a decant price also its clean keeps your oil nice

Propane also LOVES boost!!

I would do propane in my DD, if it didn't take up bed space.  Because there is a guy that sells propane here in town for $1.75 a gallon.  When the gasoline prices go up, his price is always under $2 dollars.  He has had it down to $1.25.

In my rig, (turbo'd 22r on propane), i use about 6 gallons of propane wheeling about 8 hrs.  Now, on the street, I can only get about 90 miles to 8 gallons but in the rocks it does pretty good.
