So I installed the 1200lb HD Clutch on to my '98 4Runner (new NAPA flywheel) and was surprised to find the clutch pedal effort to be way easier to push than the old OEM set-up. The research I did suggested the pedal effort to be higher instead of lower. Engagement seems fine though and I haven't worked it too hard as I'm trying to break it in properly. Anyone experience a lighter pedal feel after their install?

Marlin recommends a different step dimension than stock be machined into the flywheel. Not sure if you would feel this though.

Did you lube the pedal linkage? Was the last clutch a stock one?

I installed the 1600lb Marlin clutch and it was only slightly stiffer than stock.

My 1200# is smooth as hell for my R151F.  I wanted the 1600, but thought it would be too stiff.   :smack:  I have a 91 that has a stock clutch, and it is alot heavier than mine.

Lubed the input shaft that the release bearing slides on and the old clutch was the original one.

Been driving it around for a few weeks now and everything seems fine. Loving the engagement too! Gonna hook up the trailer in a few weeks and go for a rip and see how it goes.
