Good news first: Our website is immune to this security attack!

What's this about?
If you haven't heard by now, a security engineer from Google identified a bug in the widely-used OpenSSL system that gives hackers access to a small amount of a website server's memory -- memory capable of storing encryption tools used by the website. OpenSSL is an open-sourced implementation of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which is essentially the expressway used to send and receive all sensitive data between users and websites in a secure transmission. This is a really big deal because OpenSSL is used by a majority of websites -- including the one you're reading this on and even money transactions via many smart phone apps like Amazon, Starbucks, and Facebook -- meaning there is a good chance you have used the OpenSSL system before.

The good news is that the version of OpenSSL we use is a version that is NOT affected. So this bug is unrelated to your Online Marlin Crawler Shopping Experience, which continues to host 256-bit crazy-good encryption for the highest security standard in the industry.
