I have a 94 4-runner that is due for some swaps :gap:
It has a 3.0 v6 with a R150 trans and a  :reg: chain drive transfer case.
I want to swap in a R151 turbo trans and a gear driven transfer case.
Is this swap possible ???
Do I use the R150 bell housing ?
What kind of transfer case cross member do I use ?
Do I have to get new driveshafts?
Thanks in advance :beerchug:

Wouldn't a nice solid axle swap gain you a lot more than swapping your drivetrain???  Or for that matter, add a gear driven reduction box w/adapter and you will have your gearing options taken care of.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

i've been looking at the same options, and the easiest way to go would be marlins really nice but pricey 4.7/1 tcase on the back of your exsisting trans.  not sure about driveshafts, hope some here can answer that for us.

I have a solid axle to go in just don't have all the parts yet :sad2:
Second the stock transmission is pretty raged out and has 220k miles on it.
Replaced the syncros at 100k but no bearings.
Third I like the 13% lower first gear in the R151F compared to the R150F.
Also I would have to buy an adapter for a gear driven t-case so why not swap
out the ragged tranny instead of buying the adapter ???

I think the bell housing can be swapped but not 100%..I have notes on doing this but I need to find it..
