Bam,

Killer Fab work.

Two Questions.

1. Custom pitman arm?

2. What is the function of the horizontal 1/4" round bar attached to the rear shackles? A stop guide for mock up?

:driving:

Cheesemaker

The 1/4" rod is for the double shackle setup.  The rod is what rests up against the frame in the rest position.

And I think he got the steering arm from Sky Offroad.

Rusty Hilux

Thanks Cheesemaker,

Regarding the 1/4" rod:

When the suspension compresses and the rod rests against the frame do you get a "clunk" or loud metal on metal sound? Seems like that would be ultimately annoying if it happens regularly while driving. Is this vehicle strictly trail rig status, so it's no big deal? Or does the 1/4" rod rarely reach that level of compression and is strictly the limit of the suspension?

I forgot all about this thread.

The rear shackle set up doesn't make much noise at all driving around town. This is my daily driver so it sees a lot of around town driving.  I will say I'm not real happy with the linked shackle though for a street rig. I like to drive faster than I probably should and it doesn't corner well when it unloads the shackle.  They flex pretty damn well on the trail and can't complain too much there. They just don't work well for my style of driving.

I should update this thread. I've got a bunch of worked planned for this fall. For now a teaser shot of the bumper install I'm working on.

Yep, I torque them every other week and I don't have any issues. lol

I need to order bolts and just safety wire the damn things.
