My Rig. An 86 toyota pickup flatbed
« on: Jan 20, 2014, 07:05:18 PM »
I picked up my first toyota from a buddy after he rolled it on the road. I am in the process of getting the cab swapped at the moment and the on to the fun stuff. It is a 22r 5 speed that started out as a 2wd. It was sas and put on 33s. It then gained a marlin dual  case and the rear end was welded. It now sits on 36 tsls. She has seen better days, but is on her way to recovery. The frame is spotless which is rare for NH where I live. Any questions or comments are welcomed.

My future plans for her are to swap the cab like I said, on board air, 4x4 fenders (if anybody has any let me know), maybe an internal cage, and wire in a cb.

I picked up a cab yesterday. Unfortunately the guy cut the front clip off, so I will have to weld on my existing clip. It also needs a drivers side floor patch. The cab is off of an 86 4x4. I will start working on the body work next week and it won't be long after that until she is back on the trails and maybe even the road.

This is my winch setup. I have it on a 2" receiver plate so it can be mounted on the front or rear. The winch is a 12000 lb Badlands Winch that I bought at Harbor Freight. What do y'all think about swapping the cable for rope?

That's alot of winch. And in my experience of winching heavy full sizes. High dollar rope is better. Peterson's Magazine has a great write up on rope vs cable.
