They are designed to be used with stock hardware in the same mounting locations. They are all laser cut at the same dimensions... We've sold many of these but I'll take a look on Monday to see if any have extra thick powder coating for some reason or another.

Ran an m8 tap through it just to try it out and it worked. It was just paint in the threads.

^ Same deal with mine.  I ran a tap through the holes to clean them up.

I'll have to see about some pictures and additional details on the Marlinized stock mounts.

* BigMike adds this to his very, very small TO-DO list which is almost always empty.

I did the motor mount mod this past weekend. Big difference over OEM style.  I did over tighten the the nut on the driver side and had vibrations, backed it off until all was good. The t-case no longer thumps the floor during shifts.
TG cross member/ skid & MC mount going in this weekend.

Great stuff here.

Thanks for the replies.

Awesome :beerchug: One thing that I forgot to mention is that Marlin uses thick Nylon washers which allows you to keep a good torque on the nut without causing too much vibrations.

^^ I didn't think about using  a non-metallic washer. I will be changing the steel washer this weekend.  I have noticed that at idle, I can hear the washer rattling around and I hate that kinda stuff.

Thanks Big Mike.

Later.

Just bought one of Marlins red trans mounts and can't find a bolt that will thread into the skid plate holes. Are they a special size or just too much paint in the hole?

PAINT. Just be a little gentle. They'll go though.

On the 6th of this month we added the following install notes to the product listing: "Double check the lower four threaded holes with an 8x1.25mm tap to clean out any paint."

... So I have had issues with my trans mount.  Everything I tried ended with more vibration than I liked.

So, I thought, what about applying Marlin's motor mount trick to the OEM trans mount.  Worked like a charm.
As I have an A340F, I will not say this will work for a manual trans.

Check it out:
