Ha! If he passes through Richmond, KY on the way...things have gone awry.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

If I were headed up that way I'd definitely check out the big arse redwoods on the north coast. I know there are also some cool breweries along that path to check out.

WOW very cool! It's a lot of fun! The wife and I have driven PCH from San Jose up to Eureka (more below about this) and back, and also from San Jose down to Newport Beach and back. It is a GREAT drive, you will enjoy every minute of it!

Things to know are that the PCH does not run the coast line all the way to Eureka. It turns inland to the 101 just north of Fort Bragg.
Traffic can really blow pretty much the entire section between Bodega Bay and (especially) when you climb over the mountains to run along the 101 via the Golden State Bridge (and of course traffic anywhere in S.F. will be horrible).
Pretty much everything is over priced in the Big Surr area and make sure you have a full tank before entering the area because gas stations are sparse and very expensive.

It is beautiful all over. I'll have to look through my pictures to recall all that we did  Highly recommended trip!

Share some pictures when it happens please.  I never drove 101 in CA.  In OR, I have driven the whole coast.  Beautiful.

The evergreens and the cold sea mist.  It is a good setting for a murder novel.

Been up here for a few years now. It's funny, apparently, a lot of people have family in this area. I met one of your friends up here, she'd recently moved here. Small world.
