Anyone know anything about these? They are a 9mm. I am going to be doing a private sale from a friend in another state. What are the FFL requirements or anything like that? Also, the gun is a 16 round magazine, how do I make that comply with CA regs? I know 10 is the max for CA. What if I only have 10 in the mag? or do I need to find a block off plate? I don't think a 10 round mag is made for it.

As far as the gun, anyone have any info on it? The reviews I have found online look very good. I have held this gun in my hand and it has a good feel to it. I really don't know much about guns though, other than the M9 and M16. This gun is imported by EAA out of Florida. It is based off of the CZ75 and I have heard it will accept a CZ75B magazine

Good luck on getting that in California.  CA has a very strict list of guns they approve.  Best bet is to go and find a dealer that can do the FFL transfer, and ask them what can happen or not.

I don't know about the mag issue for it but I do know a little about the FFL part. If you are having it shipped to you, You Have to send a copy of an FFL to the person sending it, You can get this from a pawn shop or gun shop that will do it for you, Most will for a fee. Then it has to be shipped (BY FEDX no one else is allowed to ship pistols.) to that FFLs address where You pick it up and fill out the background check and transfer paperwork.

I don't know about Cali cuz you guys have some screwed up laws But..... Most states allow face to face guns sells without any paperwork. In other words if you are visiting your friend and buy a gun off him you do not need a FFL to do transfer/background check forms and the sale is 100% legal, Cali may be different I am not sure, I hate that you guys have to put up with all that crap.

A lot of people misunderstand that paperwork you fill out when you purchase a firearm...........They think it is registering a firearm. It is not all that it is doing is A) doing a background check on the purchaser and B) recording the sale of a firearm.  Registering a firearm is different paperwork and I know nothing about that because I don't have any registered guns and never will have if I can help it.

A good gun shop worker could prolly tell you if 10 round mags are made for that pistol if you ask them. :twocents:

The mag is a no go in Cali. They can sell it to you without the mag. Is the gun on the approved pistol list? Pretty sure they will not transfer it into the state if it is not on the list.

I think I found the approved list. it does not appear to be on that list.... I really don't see why it shouldn't be there.... but I have contacted EAA and asked them about it being CA legal as well....

good thing I am asking and learning about it now.....

now, at the end of what it says on that page, this would count as a private party transfer if I am not mistaken.....

It might work. Its not on the list because they have not paid the state to put it on the list. The state does the testing. Talk to the FFL who would be doing the transfer about it being legal or not.

if I am reading it correctly, I might not need an ffl dealer to do anything... this would be a person to person, face to face transfer from a friend

As long as it isn't across state lines, and isn't on the CA banned list.

I don't think it is on the banned list, but he is a resident of Utah...... :dunno:

Its a federal thing.  You can get a FFL dealer there that is willing to ship it to a FFL dealer local to you.   That is the only way you can legally buy a out of state firearm.

I see deals in Washington which is only 2 hours from me, but its a pain in the ass to legally buy a firearm across state lines.

You wont be able to bring that into CA through an FFL if it is not roster'd. Youre boned.

Hopefully, I can get some local help...... I emailed EAA, and they said that magazine is 16 rounds.

I just emailed a local ffl dealer, so I am waiting to see what they say......:crossed:

You will have to find a 10 round mag for it for sure. the whole less bullets thing doesnt work, buddy of mine lost a shotgun he won at a ducks unlimited dinner and it didnt have a plug in it and did not know. only had 3 shells ( 1 chamber 2 tube) in it and a warden decided to check, Shoved his measuring tube in it and it went wayyyyyyy past the mark.  Warden confiscated the gun and he got ticketed for it.

So I got a little more info from a local ffl.....

"For us to receive a handgun it must be on the California approved list, which can be found at http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

As the gun in question is not on that list we cannot receive it for you.  Off-list guns can be transferred via a private party transfer, but that requires both parties to be California residents and both be present at the FFL to complete the transfer."

sadly, it looks like I wont be able to buy this gun from my friend.... at least not at this time.....

Jim,

Sarsilmaz only has the 16rd magazine for that firearm.  I do not know about other manufacturers magazines and their compatibility with that firearm.  Sorry

Thank you,

Do you know if they have a magazine block to make it CALIFORNIA LEGAL? As CA has a 10 round maximum rule.

Cali really sticks it to you guys. I can go to almost any state and make a face to face purchase and bring it back to Ky no problem.

And for what do they get Nothing except some more tax money off of ya.

It is illegal to purchase a gun from a private party in a FTF purchase in another state.  It is federal law that it has to be done through a FFL dealer.

But does everybody follow the law?

It isn't on the list because eaa didn't want to give cali the 10 grand or so it cost to have each gun approved.  I've been told, and it could be wrong, that there's not a safety requirement they're worried about so much as just getting lots of money.
