I noticed that Marlin has this picture showing all the stuff for the rear axle

I bought two Rear Axle Housing Seals and two Rear Axle Outer Axle Rubber Seals at the local Toyota stealership (paid almost twice as much as Marlin's got his stuff marked).  My question is do I need any of the other parts?  The rearend has bearings and seem to be just fine.  I looked in the FSM and it shows a pretty crappy picture of the rearend.  I don't even know where the Rear Axle Outer Axle Rubber Seals go??  Anybody have any pics of a rear axle rebuild?

Thanks
Aaron

if your wheel bearings are ok then take the outter seal back..You need to take the bearing out to get the seal in..I only replace the outer seal when replacing bearings..Just replace the inner seal and put a little silicopne grease on the o-ring..Unless you want to tear the bearing out to replace the seal..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

Thanks for the reply!  Do I need to buy the O-Rings or can I use an 85 rear axle's?  I didn't know about the outer seal and the bearings, thanks.  I could take them back but they charge a 15-20% restocking fee so I might just keep them until the bearing need replacing.  I guess I need the snap rings as well.

Where does the snap ring go?  I'm looking to rebuild my axle and I don't remember taking a snap ring out to get the axle shafts out?
