Marlincrawler HD IFS box mount kit question
« on: Sep 06, 2013, 12:53:55 PM »
This is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway....

BACKSTORY:

1995 Toyota 4runner SAS with high steer and IFS box. I bought the hd steering box kit thinking it would strengthen the frame around the steering box. Got the steering box off and found that the frame was already sleeved. Now here is the question.

Is this kit made for when you are swapping to push/pull steering to high steer? Should I save this for when I put high steer on my sons 82 hilux and just fab up the outer plates and bolt them to mine?

You can do either, I'd personally save it for your sons 1st gen and fab up plates for your runner! :beerchug:

The frame on my 94 runner still gave way so I used the kit

Right on guys. Thanks. I think I'm gonna cut out the side plates and make the holes for around the sleeves in my frame. Bolt/weld that to the frame and use the actual marlin kit for my kid.  I think that will work the same. Jus won't have the top plate that the kit comes with.
