Single low gear case or dual case for '91 V6 Extra Cab???
« on: Aug 16, 2013, 01:09:06 PM »
I need lower transfer case gearing, but i don't necessarily need "dual case low". I assumed single case 4.7 gears would be cheaper than a dual case setup, but then i read that the V6 toys require an adapter and driveshaft revisions even for the 4.7 gears. My question is simple...

What would be the approximate cost difference between a single case low gear and a dual case setup for my truck? Is a 4.7 swap out really not possible for my truck without driveshaft changes?

I have a 1991 V6 Toyota Pickup Extra Cab on 33" tires with a 3" suspension lift.

I always say do dual cases. The main reason is that you can still keep stock 4 low.
