I was wondering if anyone had any issues with the 4x Innovation quick release door hinges. I currently installed them on my 87 pickup and I can not get the pins out. They are real tight and just will not come out. Did I install them wrong? If any has had this issue, let me what I can do to fix this problem.

I had a hell if a time getting them
Installed for the half doors and regular doors. By the time I did get them aligned they were wallowed out. Used them for a year or so then reinstalled stock hinges as the regular doors wouldn't fit.

I have them on my 85 4runner, while I do like them they are not quick and easy to use.

It helps to have 2 people while switching out doors because of the tight fit. I find it helps to have someone moving the door up & down while I use a punch to drive out the pins.

I do use a tiny bit of grease, also I need to get a few of the brass sleeves replaced.

Thanks I just wanted to make sure that I was not the only one having problems.

Just wanted to reply with my experience on these.  While they are a well made set of hinges, they by no means allow a "quick" change of doors.  I changed these both doors out myself, as I will not normally have an extra person around to hold things while working with these.

I started by putting the new hinges on the driver side, followed by putting the tube doors on.  Not too bad, but getting the pins in proved to be not so simple.  Then came the stock doors.  There isn't a whole lot of space to work on to start with, and the top pin is easiest to install upside down.  The wrap-around clip that "locks" the pin in place seems to get in the way, and a couple of times popped out of the other side.  Although they look like you can grab onto those clips to get some leverage in putting them an and out, they don;t take much to come off the pin.  Also, the stock door did not close well at all.  It actually popped open when unlatched.

On my next attempt (passenger side), I simply unbolted the stock door from the stock hinges, and bolted the tube door to them.  In my opinion, it is much easier to turn in four bolts than it is to try to align both hinges and get the pins in.

Back to the driver side, I decided to try to figure out what was binding them up so much.  Thinking that they weren't entirely aligned properly, I wiggled them a little.  Low and behold, the top pin just dropped right out, and I sat there holding the door from half falling off (and no tools anywhere close to me).

The only way that these hinges may work best is if you either ran the tube doors, or take them off completely.  Dealing with the stock doors is a pain.  If you will always have a second set of hands, then these should work fine for you.  It definitely seems easier to thread 4 bolts, like I said.  Might be even faster if you take the extra bolts for the tube doors, and make them shorter, since 3/4 of the thread sticks out the other side of the door.
