Bolt-On sliders

For you doubters out there on the strength of my bolt on sliders. I have been running my sliders this way for 13-14 years. I do not wheel easy stuff. They have never come loose, moved or caused me any problems in any way.
I am on my fourth set of sliders on the same mounts and soon to be fifth. There are four U shaped mounts that clamp the top of the frame with one 1/2 inch bolt on each mount.

I cannot weld overhead or verts so I made these.

I have seen welded sliders, even with "fish plates" rip holes in he frame.

First set, all square tube and my rig weighed over 6,000 pounds.

Looks like you need a welder to make the bolt on parts.............

I'd rather bend a bolt on than rip a weld on off my frame.

I've been running a similar set up for 13 years. 1/4" plate for the saddles (only 2) 2" X .250" square tube for the legs and 2.5" X .250" square tube for the slider. No complaints. Had my welder at work build them and he didn't want to weld .250" to the frame because the frame is much thinner.

While I'm not knocking the bolt on sliders at all. A properly welded fish plate shout not tear a hole in your frame. The tube should itself fail before that.

There is nothing wrong with Bolt on s.iders, or bolt on anything for that matter as long as it's dine right.

Edit; it should fail if we're talking normal .120 wall that people use for sliders.

They have stood up to abuse of the Con, 4-Dice, Dusy, Moab and the Hammers. Look at the pictures and what they look like. I use them a lot since I have a 123 inch WB.

Those sliders look nice and stout. I was always told that welded sliders with fish plates done right will stiffen and strengthen the frame, also if you tie your exo into the sliders through the fenders it will be one solid rig after that- less stress on the frame/ twisting? please let me know if im wrong

Pssshhhhhhhh OOPS, you haven't even been driving a motor vehicle for 13 years. I remember when you were still in high school and your dad was bringing you out to events to wheel with us.
