ARB twin compressor

New to this forum and have a technical question:
I have the ARB twin compressor under the hood of my '03 Tacoma Prerunner.
All was well until a few weeks ago when it began building air, shutting off, building air, shutting off and so on until it reached max pressure.
There are no leaks which would necessitate this activity.  I have replaced the pressure regulator and both relays. Both in-line fuses are good. Looking the system over, both connectors from the compressors to the relays are melted making it difficult to troubleshoot. I managed to get each apart and replaced the connectors.
Here is the weird part:
If I connect either of them one at a time, each function as normal but, connecting both at the same time, it again builds air, shuts off, builds air, shuts off.

Has anyone had this issue?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

You said the connectors are melted? Are the wires getting that hot? Sounds like a bad connection somewhere or too small a wire. Have you checked to see how many volts your getting at the pumps? Have you tried calling ARB?

Yes, the connectors were melted and I did replace them today. All of the other connections are ARB OEM.  The harness has not been shortened or lengthened and I do have a high output alternator (120 amp) running and an Odyssey battery. The compressors are said to pull 56amps when both function and my alternator makes more than that @ idle
I did e-mail ARB last week with no response.
I can't figure this one out.  No issues prior.
I will check the voltage to the pumps next weekend.

Thanks for the reply.

Here is an up-date to fixing the issues I have had with the 'twins':

After replacing the regulator and both relays, trouble shooting led me to disconnect the outlet hose to the locker solenoid manifold...
both compressors now work in unison as they should.

The problem was a lot of rust inside the ARB supplied stainless line.  It was clogged so bad I wonder how it worked at all.

The fix was this:
I installed a 3/8" stainless line to replace the supplied 1/4".  It works much better than when I first installed it.  It now airs up my tank & tires quicker which can only mean the compressors will run cooler, eliminating any heat issues down the road.

I hope this helps someone in the future.

Later.
