To Tripple Drill flange or not
« on: May 20, 2013, 10:44:45 AM »
So I have dual ultimate  cases sitting on my work bench all I need it time to install and have driveshaft work, the only thing I need left is to get flanges. I have several stock ones an I dont need tripple drilled ones for drive shaft reasons, but I figure they are stronger( well the marlin ones are) then stock and I want to eliminate the weak links now. since I already put a longfeild output in. But The Marlin ones arnt in stock ever and I spent all morning trying to call and ask with no luck.

How many of you have broke stock flanges? should I even worry about it?

I personally wouldn't worry about it, I've pretzeled a few drivelines and had one come loose on the freeway (stopped before it let go) and I've never had an issue with a stock flange.

I wouldn't consider the stock flanges to be weak.
Ive been running stock flanges and haven't had any issues.

Been running stock flanges with my 5.29 36 irok and havent had any issues. The stock toy flanges are plenty strong.the biggest plus about the triple drilled flanges is that if you ever run Into driveline problems  on the trail you can get help from someone with a different driveline. I would keep a stock flange or other brand flange as a spare. I dont think flange strength is an issue here. Im just as loyal to marlin as anyone here but if you dont feel safe buy it elswhere (all pro)

The point is that it is a adapter for different yokes to driveshafts. So if you need it, get it, if you dont, dont
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

You can always drill the stock flange, that is what we did in the old days before the triple flang. I have been running stock flanges since 97, and like the others never had a problem!
