I know how to pull apart the axle and get the diff out but how can I make sure I dont ruin any axle seals? Wanting to pull the diff to weld the spider gears

Just don't drag the axles when you remove them from the axle housing, or just replace the seals, they are not that expensive.

The '93 Toyota FSM will walk you through the process, it is fairly simple to do.

Do not just leave the axles halfway in the axle, it will distort the seals, remove them completely.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

:dunno: I don't fully pull my axles when removing my 3rd, in fact I don't even remove the brake lines. I just support the axles so they don't touch the seals.

I have done 13 diff swaps on 1 truck.  I left the axles hanging and never had a leak.  No brake bleeding :blah:

It was a Nissan though  :psss:

If is was my Tacoma I'd replace the seals.  Cheap as said above.  No sense doing it again.  I hate bleeding brakes.

are you welding it yourself, or getting someone else to do it?

if the latter, make sure it isn't some hack...... there are a few people I would trust here to do it
