Good advice, man good thing you took a gander, cracked frame is definately bad. Someday I will do some sort of engine swap. I am all about keeping things simple though, and I dont think it gets much smore simple than the 22re. Anyone have any experience with a stroked 22r???
Hey BIGMIKE I got a different number from Toyota about the 3RZ everythings good, but they told me that it was rated 177@3600 RPM just curious to know
I asked about the VVT engine. From what he told me, its a great engine but not for our application. The engine is so totally controlled by the computer that if any little thing goes wrong most of the system shuts down and you have to start pulling codes like crazy. There is so much computer that you need a computer to tell you whats wrong.
found this on toysports site, i already knew this but just for you guys The factory set the boost at 5.5-6 pounds, but completely stock internals survived boosts of up to 17-22 pounds, with proper fuel injection modifications. This is a testimony to the bulletproof bottom end design. Nitro / Methanol fueled dragsters, producing in excess of 1100 HP- used the original (modified) crankshafts and TOYSPORT pistons! The carbureted engines developed 185-195 HP, but consistently out ran the 239-240 HP Ford engines in the same class. The secret is in the torquey characteristics of the power band. The limiting factor of this engine is also its strongest point. The long stroke limits RPM capability to about 6200 maximum, but the bottom end will take a lot of abuse. The crankshaft is forged.
well ya cant put a 20head on the 91 but you can add that turbo header then find a turbo from a wrecked supra, probably add another 150-200 hp
