SFA metal split rings and rock rings
« on: Apr 12, 2013, 11:56:17 PM »
I need a set of metal split rings and rock rings for holding the felts on the steering knuckles. Seems places will sell the rock rings, but I have yet to find anyone selling the split rings, except for in a rebuild kit.

Thanks

I bet if you called Marlin they might set you up.  Sometimes, they don't have everything online.

I did. They said (nicely) that I'd probably have to go to a junk yard.

Check out lowrangeoffroad.com and go to their garage sale section they had some on their a couple of days back.
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Good find. I saw that one the other day. But they don't have the split rings. The only place I have seen them is in TG's knuckle rebuild kit. I'm using the Marlin axle rebuild kit.

That's just the rock ring, the marlin service kit calls it the half moon plate.

From the Marlin kit description:
"Please note we do not include the metal split ring nor half moon plates because they are not serviceable parts and are recommended to be reused by Toyota."

I still need this part.

I can buy a wiper kit at the dealer, but they want something like $50 per side, and I already have the felts and seals and everything else.

Thanks for the input.

Just go the tg knuckle sandwich  kit, I only needed a couple things out of it but decided that wheelin season is comin up, so why not redo all my seals, anything that is somewhat in good shape is kept for trail spare! :driving:

Sooooo, if you just got the TG kit, do you have extra split rings that you'd part with?

I actually need both. I just haven't found the split rings anywhere. I'd rather get your rock rings if that's an option. What do you want for both?

Sorry, must be some mis-communication......I only have the original parts, no rock rings. I'll sell what I have for the shipping cost only.

I keep seeing the term half moon plate and rock ring used synonymously, so I keep using both to mean the stock equipment.

I need the split rings and half moon plates. I'll PM you a mailing address, does PayPal work for you?

Thank you.
