Project ZUKOTA.....
« on: Mar 10, 2005, 06:40:12 PM »
Recently a buddy of mine had to many vehicles at his house and he had to get rid of some... one of those vehicles was a Suzuki samurai with a SPOA conversion and 33 inch bald mud tires.....    The downside was that it had 10 years of backfees dude... i just recently found out that they cleared this vehicle since it has been so long so now it has a fresh start...

What it has>
Custom Springover axle conversion
33 inch BFG mud terrains bald as hell and leaky as hell...
Custom lift shackles and stock springs...

The plans>
Toyota Axle swap
Shaved axles
Longfields
Aussie locked front
Lincoln locked rear
5.29s
Hysteer with FJ60 steering box or scout steering box...
Toyota rear spring packs front and rear
2.5 inch Backspaced wheels
2 inch spacers up front
1.5 inch spacers in the rear...

Rock4xfabrications adaptor(suzuki sidekick bellhousing to toyota tranny adapter)
Of course the MCO7 with stock toyota duals...
Square tube front driveshaft with sch.40 rear driveshaft
Custom tube front clip with 6 point homemade style roll cage

This Rig will be daily driven and trailered to the trails.....

I plan on keepin the motor stock for now... im more concerned on the wheelbase so i can run toyota duals and a toy tranny... for the future i plan on swapping in a toyota 22r.....

Will post pictures in a few days when i find my digital camera.....
Any advice can be used... let me know what you guys think....
AWHOTrods i might need your help on this one.....
Stay tuned

Sweet.  You wanna bent some tube for me Jared?  Not now, maybe in a month or so.  I need some front fender bars.  Looks like it is gonna be a great buildup.    :beerchug:

that sounds kinda like what my brother is doing t his zuki, except hes going to put a 22r in it when he swaps in the yota axles and hes going to use YJ springs or something. they're hella nice rigs, ive been trying to get my hands on one, my brother, dad and grandpa all have one so i kinda feel left out. why are you going to run all those spacers??? with the yota axles it will already have a pretty stout stance. sounds like an awsome project though, good luck.

I know a couple guys that are into samis...both have yota axles,,both beat the freak'n piss out of them with stock birfs and 35 boggers..Only one of them has ever broken a birf and that was crawling a car..the fron got wedged in the dash and a-pillar and lots of throtte was used to unstick it..Other then that on the trail a birf has never been broken..so longfeilds wont be needed right away..The are both useing zuki motor, trans and t-cases with the 4.0 gears in the t-case..they both said that with duels there not sure how well a toy duel case trans would fit being as long as they are..possibly just a toy trans with a 4.7 gear set might be the ticket over duel cases..6 inches can be alot in a short wheelbase rig..

one guy is using toy springs and it works really well..I can send you his e-mail if you want to pick his brain..but this sami works killer!
toy springs and axles on 35 boggers..this rig gets it with stock birfs and t-case gears..

Forgiveness is between them and god..
