It just shows how lazy we have gotten over the years in producing fuel efficient engines.  Our forefathers were freaking genius's when it came to aircraft engines, cause we had to overcome the German Messerschmidt with the jet engine.  But it seems that they stopped right there.  If they continued that thought into automobile engines, we'd be getting over 100 MPG today in a pickup.
