Very partial to the Hilux platform.  Bought an '88 4x4 new off the lot and drove the crap out of it until 2010.  It was modified as a pre-runner (love the California deset!).  2nd theft recovery was more than the insurance co. could bear and it was declared total loss.  Used the payoff to buy an '87 4runner, which is my current ride.  Have dreams of a Total Chaos build, along with a Marlin Crawler tranny.  Just finished a total engine rebuild due to a thrown rod (.20 over, hypereutectic pistons, Engnbldr street RV head w/Torkr cam, LCE intake & header).  Did most of the work myself.  LOVE the way it runs and am thinking the MC tranny is solidly the next upgrade!
