Ok so im not entirely a newb but feel I should maybe post here since i feel like a tard.  Im in the process of doing a simple sas swap on my 93 4Runner. Ive done one successfully before awhile back.  I got to the brakes and ran into an issue. I got  the fj60 rotors (got from napa 1983 fj60 is what i told them to order)  like you should if you want to use your ifs cals (4cly) which still should work. Put it all together an this is what i got......

There not centered like they should be. oh ya..... my hubs are 1982 hubs if you wanted to know. Everything that Ive researched tells me that this combo should work. also why are the fj60 rotors not as thick as the ifs rotors? is that normal? I remember the fjs being the same thickness.

I didn't even look  if mine were centered when I put them on, they've been fine for a year of DD though lol. If you're really worried about it you might be able to use a washer as a spacer to get it centered.

It looked like you could shim it to fit, but its not right still and idk why i would have too. It could work though im just not pumped to do that hahaha

im running fj60 drilled and slotted rotors (i would not recommend running drilled and slotted, :pokinit: gets stuck in them) but im running ifs v6 calipers. im not sure if that makes a difference? ill look at mine to see if its centered.

everything that ive read is the only difference between the 4cyl an the v6 cal is the piston size. the v6 cals have all four big pistons and 4cyl have two smaller.

there is a change mid 91 year i believe.. the rotors changed thickness so did the calipers.  bigger i believe

Ifs rotors an cals or fj? That might make sense why my set up isnt right. I have 83 fj rotors and 93 cals. Can anyone confirm this?

ifs calipers.. hard to tell from the pictures, but the center part (part were rotor goes) is bigger on the newer ..They also mount a bit different, and have different hardware

it must be a caliper mounting bracket differance, because they use the same rotors  :dunno:, but are not interchangeable from late to early, I have a build date after that takes the early calipers and they will not work

off topic but they also changed the steering boxes in 8/91. seems like they made a lot of changes mid 91 era. but to get back on topic if i was you id do it correctly. then you wont ever have that uneasy feeling lingering.

Thanks bleak....I found out late yesterday that i did need to change my cals as well. I got 90 cals at the local parts house put them on and Bam! they fit like a glove. Also the hardware and mounting is the same between the changes. the only thing that i seen was different was that after 91 cals are wider along with the rotors. pre 91 rotors are .78 thick and after 91 they there .98. thanks everyone for the help!
