Home made snatch block?
« on: Mar 09, 2005, 12:43:48 PM »
Has anyone done this?  I am having trouble finding a pully that is large enough and or strong enough, that dosent have a 2 inch hole in the middle.  Is this worth my trouble.... or for $55 is the warn one worth it?

Check E bay Item number: 4363521187.  It only holds a 5/16" cable I believe.

I'm sure that I could find one.....Would that be strong enough?  Does it have to be off a certain year and or motor?

Nope, Just remmember it is a cast pully and I wouldn't be standing over it under a full load. I have done this, but recommend getting somthing that is rated for the use. This way you can't be held liable if someone gets hurt. In a pinch this is always an option.

My  :twocents: are to just go buy one. I personally wouldn't want a home made snatch block breaking and having parts of it come fly at me. My bro got an ARB one for like 45 bucks. $35-$50 bucks is a lot cheaper then hospital bills for shrapnel in your head.
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

Such wise words from the young one, and so true.  I regret not "permanently borrowing" one in the 5+ years I worked on the anchor crew at work, we used them all the time and had some pretty beefy ones.
RIP KYOTA
