What RC to start with?
« on: Feb 10, 2013, 10:27:52 PM »
Alright so I am completely new to this RC stuff. I have always wanted to get into the hobby, and now i that i bought some super cheap scale toyota toys. i would love to get a fully functioning crawler with true 4wd and real scale engine that can blast through snow and crawl.

here are the toys i have.

they are scale 1:16 models, give or take a little bit.
what kits are mostly complete and somewhat budget friendly.

Ive heard of Loki's and Axial's
what are some good sites, any other rc kits? thanks guys.
 :beerchug:

pics are included of the toys I have.

I have an exceed mad torque and love it, lots of new options have come out for it in the past couple weeks. Plus they're super easy to customize!
Mine went from this, stock

To this, slightly modded

To this, full on custom. I still have under $300 in it!

That's where I got mine, if they're still out of stock look on amazon and eBay though.

There actually isn't one in the valley anymore. There's one in post falls and a couple in north Spokane. They all focus on nitro cars and planes mostly though. I get basically all my stuff online from rc4wd, amainhobbies, tcs crawlers, dlux fab, and the for sale section on rccrawler.com.

Ckrc crawlers is awesome, and they are in Reno so shipping should be pretty quick.

I was going to list them but there's lots of bad reviews about them, mostly shipping stuff. Same with rc4wd so definitely search before you buy.

Yeah, usually people have trouble when they're larger orders.

The mad torque crawler in orange and green is in stock as of this post. I have an axial based scaler but if your new to rc and dont want to spend a lot of money that would be what I would buy.  The nitro rcx one looks ok. I just have heard that parts are hard to find. Or a rtr kit from axial has everything you need and parts and mods are easy to come by.
