i got my detroit locker today. that is some beef right there. im getting so excited to put this thing together and go c what it will do.
didnt get those 38's, the seller sold to someone else, so im going to order new 36's instead. that might save a birf or two but ill just have to find out.
offtopic my truck is like the cheaper version of kyotas. both running duals- he has 23 spline 4.7...im stock geaing
spooled rear detroit front but he has hi pinion and v6 rear end....im just using v6 gears with 4cyl carrier
both trucks are 83's

Thats a good idea.  Its not really all that hard to do either.  While your swapping you can go ahead and move the gas tank at the same time.  If you upgrade to a later year of tank you'll not only get a higher capacity but it fits between the framerails perfectly.

That could work if ya needed it to.  But a carbed 84+ tank will work the best.  I jsut so happen to have one here.  If you can figure out how to get it there its yours.
